Take Charge — Get Tested
If you’re sexually active, you owe it to yourself to know your STD and HIV status. More than half of sexually active people get an STD at some point in their lives, while up to 1 out of every 4 people with HIV don’t even know they have it. Because HIV and many STDs have few or no symptoms, getting tested early and often is what’s best for you and your partners.
STD testing is free throughout April. Some eligibility requirements apply. Patients with private insurance are not eligible for free testing. PPWI will bill insurance if available, but will not collect a co-pay for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomoniasis, HIV tests and visits with testing. Patients will be charged or billed for additional services and treatment.

Stay Safe With PrEP & PEP
Planned Parenthood is here for individuals at risk for HIV with PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) medications. Available in pill form, when taken daily as directed, PrEP can reduce the risk of HIV to zero. If you are at risk of exposure to HIV, book an in-person appointment or virtual visit for an assessment and access to PrEP.
Additionally, Planned Parenthood offers PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) to individuals recently exposed to HIV. Also available in pill form, that must be taken within the first 72 hours after exposure to reduce the risk of contracting HIV. If you, or someone you know, has been been exposed to HIV, every hour counts.
