If you’re sexually active, you owe it to yourself to know your HIV and STD status. More than half of sexually active people get an STD at some point in their lives, while up to 1 out of every 4 people with HIV don’t even know they have it. Because HIV and many STDs have few or no symptoms, getting tested early and often is what’s best for you and your partners.
HIV and STDs can present serious health problems if not treated. Even if you feel fine, it’s important to get tested if you are sexually active. The sooner you know about an HIV or STD diagnosis, the sooner you can get the medical care that could save or improve your life.
Each of our centers is highly experienced at diagnosing HIV and STDs. Our caring, expert staff will talk with you about HIV and STDs without judgment and they’ll help you get the testing or treatment you need quickly.
Planned Parenthood is here for individuals at risk for HIV with PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) medications. Available in pill form, when taken daily as directed, PrEP can reduce the risk of HIV to zero. If you are at risk of exposure to HIV, book an in-person appointment or virtual visit for an assessment and access to PrEP.
Additionally, Planned Parenthood offers PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) to individuals recently exposed to HIV. Also available in pill form, that must be taken within the first 72 hours after exposure to reduce the risk of contracting HIV. If you, or someone you know, has been been exposed to HIV, every hour counts.
Accessing care through Planned Parenthood is convenient, safe, and easy. Book an in person or virtual visit through our private and secure video platform. As always, all the information you share with us is confidential.
